Entertainment Fit for a Princess

(Brattleboro, VT) January 21, 2008 -- Elsie Smith and Serenity Smith Forchion of Nimble Arts, Brattleboro’s own theatrical circus company, just returned from performing in Abu Dhabi, a Sheikdom in the United Arab Emirates. The identical twins performed their renowned duo trapeze act for Sheika Sharma’s 16th birthday. She is the daughter of the Sheikh who is second in line to the throne of the small, desert country.

The 22nd Dutch Acrobatics Festival

This year at Whitsun 2008 the festival will be organized in ALKMAAR! (35km north of Amsterdam)

Dante Launches New Bullwhip Website, Blog

Bullwhip artist and author Robert Dante has launched two new web sites - a mainstream Wild West Whips site and an "All Things Bullwhip" blog site.

WildWestWhips.com features links, articles and info related to the Wild West aspect of whip cracking as a sport and an art. The site is "Dedicated to the Art and the Spirit of Whip Cracking."

Bullwhip.TV is updated several times a week, with video clips, op-ed pieces, news, links and articles.

Fabulous Risk: Danger and Performance in Circus and Sideshow

I just came across this virtual symposium on the topic of “circus and society”. This site aparently grew out of a conference that was organized in Australia by the University of Wollongong in December 2007. Some of the papers, reports, and round table discussions that were part of the Wollongong meeting are posted on this website.

Interesting reading.

P & O cruises to add circus school

UK based P & O Cruises, a subsidiary of Carnival Cruises, has announced plans to introduce a circus school Onboard the cruise ship Ventura.

While I have never heard of the Generating Company before this, their website claims a relationship with Circus Space.

The International Circus Hall of Fame website is being rebuilt. The old site circushalloffame.com is gone, and the new site is circushof.com.

The new site should be completed within the next week.
